A Mini-Gathering in my Barn Driveway

After leaving the Dam Gathering in Lakehead, Brian & Sandi Woods, Steve Vaz, and I drove to my place in Grants Pass Oregon for a one-night mini gathering. Brian & Sandi were headed north back to BC where they live, and Steve was headed to visit friends in Gig Harbor WA before heading east toward Mt. Rushmore.

The driveway in front of the barn can easily hold five or six trailers and tow vehicles, so adding two to my two was easy for everyone.

Here’s a photo of the driveway with four trailers

Four trailers in the barn driveway

From left to right, Brian’s “Miss Piggy” made from 10 cars, 4 trucks and 2 motorcycles. The front is from a Studebaker and the back is from a Simca Vedette. Next is my 1971 Aristocrat Lo-Liner, then Steve’s “La Tortuga” a home-built teardrop with a pirate theme throughout, then at the far right my 1948 teardrop.

We grilled some chicken, drank some beer, and told some more stories before hitting the hay.

On Monday morning, Brian and I put some nut-serts in my teardrop door to anchor the door handle that has been terribly loose since I bought the trailer 4 years ago. Now I feel secure knowing that the lock can’t simply be twisted open with a little effort.

I’m looking forward to getting the barn set up as a shop and putting the Lo-Liner in it for a skin-off refurb.
