Friday May 13, 2016 – Lightner Creek Campground Durango CO

A long drive today from Lake Powell to Durango. The campground is very nice, a few miles outside of town in the woods on a creek. The navigation system got me here in good order with no hitches or false turns. For a change!

I hadn’t been here 20 minutes before a neighbor stopped by to talk about the trailer, then 10 minutes after he left, the neighbor on the other side came by. I love being the center of attention.

The altitude here (7K+ ft) makes me a little light headed, but I intend to follow the advice to stay hydrated and moderate my alcohol intake. It will be cold here tonight, probably mid to high-30s. Gonna wear everything I own to bed tonight. In fact it’s already getting a bit chilly. I think I’ll light up the fire ring when I finish this.

Tomorrow I must make reservations for the train! And do laundry!! Running out of everything clean.
