Kaslo and New Denver BC

This morning I embarked on a loop from Nelson, up to Kaslo, over to New Denver and thence back to Nelson. About 100 miles all told. I stopped at Coffee Creek, the site of the “Gray’s Creek” photo from ’08 and shot some more water shots.

I don’t know how they’ll work yet. I don’t want to work on them out here. I’ll let them simmer till I get home. Also shot photos at the Kohan Reflection Garden in New Denver BC. Some very nice scenes and a couple of photos that will be keepers, I think.

I had lunch at the Kaslo Hotel Pub. A very nice sirloin burger, salad and a couple of Nelson Brewing Company Hopgood beers. Hopgood is a nicely balanced ESB/Red Ale. Enough hops to let you know it’s a bitter, but not so many as to be bitter ;-) Nobody seems to carry NBCs After Dark on tap. I need to look for it at the beer store. It was my favorite beer when I was here in ’08, and still has a good reputation. The pub where I tasted it first seems to be gone, but maybe I’ve just missed it.
The campground is crowded tonight. A pair of 32 footers pulled in a little while ago with one of them pulling a 1960 MGA on a trailer. They are returning from vintage car racing in Spokane.
I bought a broom in the hardware store in Kaslo today. The carpet was getting pretty crunchy and needed vacuuming. But I don’t want to buy a small cheap vacuum just for the trailer, and a broom works pretty well, and was <$9.00
Cooking dinner in the trailer tonight. I’m having sausage and rice with a salad on the side. Hmmm, getting hungry….
