Vestibule Drape

To go with the new Vestibule pole receivers, I needed to make a new drape to replace the functional, but ugly, white poly tarp I’ve used for the last two years. I’ve been saying that I need to make a new drape for quite a while, but never got around to it. Until now.

I found some fabric at the local Jo-Ann fabric store that I liked, a striped polyester canvas in a classic awning pattern. I figured I’d need two panels, each ~6 feet high, plus some for hems and ties etc. so I purchased 4-1/2 yards of 56″ wide material.

After cutting the first piece, I attached it with spring clamps to check the size.

I decided that it fit well enough and went back to the sewing machine. A couple of hours later (I sew slow), I had the first panel completed and hung on the frame.

The top pocket had to be pretty big to allow it to slip over the conduit connector that joins the two pieces of each side of the frame.

Now I have to make another panel and add the velcro ties to the edges.
