Well the last piece of carpet gave up its grip on the floor this afternoon! Woo Hoo! The linoleum gets a reprieve because the cabinets are set on the linoleum ;-( So the lino can’t be removed until the cabinets are gone.
I’m making dimensioned sketches of the interior to work from as I redesign and rebuild the interior. Some stuff will stay the same as the original, like the 37″ counter height. But the stove/oven will be replaced by a stove only, and the ice box will be replaced by the Dometic fridge, so the cabinets will end up being substantially different from the original.
My plan is to put drawers where the ice box used to be, and minimize the drawers under the sink. I’ll change the doors in front of the wheel wells so they swing open instead of dropping down, and I’ll put the fridge next to the door in the upright cabinet. I’ll have to make the cabinet deeper and put louvered vent panels on the outside but the gain will be worth it.
