Lo-Liner Progress

The Lo-Liner has been in the shop for a couple of weeks now and I’ve made some real progress.

I’ve emptied out the interior cabinets, cupboards, and drawers and removed all the drawers and cabinet doors. I removed the stove and the icebox, and with the help of a friend, removed the 120AH battery.

I have removed five of the eight windows, but have slowed down because now I’m working on the driver’s side of the trailer, and there’s a scant two feet of space between the trailer and the shop wall. That makes removing the windows more difficult, so I’m doing them one a day.

As I remove the windows, I’m discovering pretty much what I expected, rot at the corners of the windows, and along the entire width of the back window. The back window looks to have leaked from day one, because the window frame directly abuts the seam in the skin. The installer didn’t take care to prevent water from entering the skin seam and running along the seam and under the window frame. I’ll fix that when I reassemble.

I have my work cut out for me, there’s lots of black rotted wood that has to be replaced before the trailer can get back on the road. But I’m also looking forward to replacing the awkward and crude built-in cabinets, and making the entire interior more livable.
